Just like in human medicine, when pets are in critical condition, they often need blood transfusions.

To donate safely, our donors need to:

 

  • Be between 1 and 8 years old
  • Be friendly (They must have a good temperament)
  • Be in good physical condition
  • Be up to date on vaccinations (Rabies and 5-in-1)
  • Be on monthly tick and flea prevention, as well as a regular deworming schedule
  • Weigh 25kg or more
Being sterilised is preferred, but not a necessity.
Donors must have no history of previous blood transfusions and must not have any known history of reactions to sedation.

What's in it for your pet?

  • A FREE yearly check-up, vaccination and blood chemistry panel worth R 2000.00.
  • A FREE Bravecto chew.
  • A blood smear and physical exam/health check will be performed before every donation.
Finally, your pet will receive a FREE blood transfusion should they ever be in need of one.
