Not long after, Dr Leshan was preparing to do his very first solo pericardiocentesis. What we love about these stories is that neither of them had done these procedures on their own before. And while you can learn and prepare as much as possible, doing something for the very first time is still very daunting. But they were willing to step up to the plate. Confidence doesn’t just come from preparing, it comes from doing. And that’s a lesson veterinary medicine teaches you over and over again.
